Artist / Program Description
The award-winning About Face Youth Theatre offers programs designed to help schools create safe, nurturing, and responsive environments for all students by increasing awareness about issues facing lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning (LGBTQ) youth and their allies. This innovative performance program has proven effective in schools across the nation. Since 1999, we have reached tens of thousands of students and teachers, providing a forum for dialogue to address sensitive issues of adolescent sexuality and violence.
Schools often struggle with violence and discrimination against youth who come out or who are perceived to be gay. Many teachers and administrators want to take action to create tolerant, inclusive school communities. About Face Youth Theatre can help address the challenge by engaging students in an arts-based program and facilitated discussion to help make your school a safe and effective learning community for all students.
