Artist / Program Description
Anne and Mark Burnell are a piano duo best known for their a cappella numbers. The duo sang the National Anthem for the Chicago Cubs and the White Sox, and they have performed in Paris, New York, Italy, and Amsterdam. They were Cabaret Fellows at the Cabaret Symposium 2000, and they appeared in the ASCAP Cabaret at the Chicago Humanities Festival 2004.
Their CD of duets Little Things We Do Together, with guest artists Johnny Frigo and Buddy Charles, features the single "Heaven Down Here," co-written by comic actor Drew Carey. The CD has been featured on radio stations throughout the country. Their new CD, Blues in the Night (January 2005), includes songs from the Harold Arlen songbook, with arrangements by Count Basie veteran Bob Ojeda.
