Banjo Buddies Dixieland Band

Artist / Program Description

The Banjo Buddies Dixieland Band is one of the most unique and exciting musical attractions around today. Don't let their name fool you. This is not a "banjo band" as their name might imply. This is a high-energy Dixieland show band that can also perform in an educational setting.

Leader Ann Stewart, featured on jazz banjo, is known for her rich alto voice. Her energy and enthusiasm fuel the exclusive arrangements performed by the group, which includes the dynamic and powerful horns of Tim Stewart (trombone) and Al Ramsey (trumpet), and the driving rhythm section of Verne Rind (drums) and Mike Zudis (bass). Smaller group sizes are also available.

The group has been performing throughout the country with their unique style of Dixieland entertainment for over three decades. They are unique because they have a contemporary approach to this style of music, one that appeals to all ages and is always presented in an entertaining fashion with vocals and audience interaction. While performing for any age group, they aim to please by gearing their vast repertoire to the audience at hand while preserving this great music known as Dixieland Jazz.
