Barossa Quintet

Artist / Program Description:
The Barossa Quintet is an ensemble of fresh Chicago talents, dedicated to full exploration of the wind quintet repertoire. This body of music, often neglected by performers and audiences, is presented passionately by the ensemble, which is comprised of five rising stars of the Chicago music scene: Leslie Fagan (flute), Jennet Ingle (oboe), Audrey Denny (clarinet), Jason Snider (horn), and Rebekah Heller (bassoon). The Barossa Quintet has performed for audiences of all ages, including early childhood and senior adult audiences, as well as in Chicago Public Schools for students with learning, emotional, and physical disabilities. They are proud to be a versatile ensemble that can quickly adapt and tailor recitals and educational concerts to fit their audience.

The Barossa Quintet presents concerts that feature diverse repertoire and virtuostic performance. A concert audience is welcomed to an ambitious program that features many contemporary and American composers, as well as classical and romantic works. Programs include pieces such as Persichetti’s Pastorale, Reicha’s Adagio for Cor Anglais and Quartet, Milhaud’s Le Cheminee de Roi Rene, and Barber’s Summer Music.
