Artist / Program Description
Historical Perspectives for Children's (HPC) full theatrical productions are specifically written for grades K-8. Through colorful costume and wig changes, our role models are vividly brought to life, showing children their life stories and how they developed the character qualities needed to achieve their personal goals. These highly entertaining and educational programs include audience participation and are accented with slides, sound effects, and voiceovers. Shows are forty-five minutes, including a question and answer period, and teacher packets are mailed one month in advance. Each year, HPC brings role models to students in over 1200 programs nationwide, including almost 600 annually throughout the greater Chicago area.
Programs include Gabriela Mistral: Hispanic Writer, Madam C.J. Walker: African American Inventor/Businesswoman, Laura Ingalls Wilder: Writer of the Frontier, and Benjamin Franklin: Statesman and Inventor.
