Artist / Program Description
Mel Ludington is an experienced drama teacher and storyteller. She holds an Illinois State Teaching Certificate in Drama, Theater, English, and Social Studies, as well as a M.A. in Education. She uses a mixture of traditional storytelling and drama to transform folktales into living works of art. In addition to assemblies, Ms. Ludington is also available for workshops and residencies. Ask about her unique One Day Residency, which culminates with an assembly featuring your students.
Interactive Story Drama Package: Experience literature in a new and exciting way. Give your students an opportunity to hear animated storytelling and to act out the characters they imagine as they listen.
Trickster Tale Writing: Explore tales from around the world in which the “little guy” triumphs through wit and nerve. Workshops are available in which Ms. Ludington works with students to create their own urban and suburban trickster tales.
Native American Tales: Enjoy tales of adventure and nature from the Eastern Woodland, Northwest, Plains, and Southwest.
