Artist / Program Description
Storyteller, writer, teaching artist – it's an awesome combination! Sue charms audiences with her warmth and creativity, telling original and traditional stories from around the world. Listeners of all ages are captivated by Sue's unique storytelling. Don't be surprised if you want to move, chant, sing, think, imagine, and dream. Recipient of the Prairie Area Reading Council Literacy Award, Sue combines her enthusiasm for storytelling with her delight in teaching students and their teachers to tell and write stories. Her work includes residencies with student storytellers, student writers, and staff development workshops.
Hot off the press!! Sue’s work with student storytellers has been included in two books. In Children Tell Stories: Teaching and Using Storytelling in the Classroom by Martha Hamilton and Mitch Weiss, Sue’s work with student storytellers is prominently cited. The authors also feature a story written by Sue about one young storyteller’s experience.
