Tom and Chris Kastle

Maria Durbin-Cooper
Artist / Program Description:
Tom and Chris Kastle are singers, sailors, songwriters, and storytellers, internationally acclaimed for their performances of traditional material as well as original works reflecting their maritime heritage. They have experienced first-hand the conventions and cultural diversity of life at sea, serving as crew aboard tall ships. Tom is a licensed Captain. They celebrate the bounty and beauty of our earth, both land and sea, with their engaging performances, warm and inviting vocals, skillful instrumentation, and good humor.

Performances usually focus on waterways – their history and/or their ecology - and are tailored to fit the needs of the audience. Tom and Chris are experienced in working with bilingual families, persons with disabilities, seniors, youth-at-risk, rural, and urban populations. Two examples of specific concert titles are Let the Waves Roll High, a general program of maritime music, and Me for the Inland Lakes, maritime songs and stories of the Great Lakes.
