Illinois Arts Council Agency Announces Executive Director

CHICAGO – Illinois Arts Council Agency (IACA) Chairman Shirley R. Madigan today announced that the Board has elected Joshua Davis as the Agency’s Executive Director.

Mr. Davis began working with the agency in 2008 and has served in several different capacities, including Deputy Director and Acting Executive Director. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University, his master’s degree from Brandeis University, and  has been active in the Chicago theater community and non-profit sector for many years. He currently lives in Chicago.

IACA Announces FY18 Arts & Foreign Language Grant Recipients

The Illinois Arts Council Agency (IACA), in cooperation with the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE), is pleased to announce that it has awarded grants to 16 school districts across the state for arts and foreign language education. A joint project of the IACA and ISBE, the Arts and Foreign Language Education Grant Program (AFL) is designed to assist school districts and other eligible applicants with the development, maintenance, or enhancement of curricular programs in the arts or foreign language.

Fiscal Year 2018 Open Deadline Applications Now Available

The Illinois Arts Council Agency is pleased to announce the release of Fiscal Year 2018 guidelines and application materials for our open deadline programs; Artstour & Live Music, StArts, and Individual Artist Support.

 

Artstour & Live Music (ATLM) provides support to eligible Illinois not-for-profit organizations seeking to present Illinois performing artists, companies, or groups for performances, collaborations, or short residencies held in conjunction with performances. 

IACA announces the resignation of Executive Director Tatiana Gant

The Illinois Arts Council Agency (IACA) announces the resignation of Executive Director Tatiana Gant, effective July 31, 2017. Ms. Gant has worked with the IACA since 2002, serving as Director of Arts Education until 2012. Tatiana will be leaving Illinois to accept the position of Executive Director of the Montana Arts Council.

IACA Announces Recipients of the Summer Youth Employment in the Arts Program

The Illinois Arts Council Agency (IACA) is pleased to announce the recipients of the fiscal year 2017 Summer Youth Employment in the Arts (SYEA) Program.  Eighty-nine Illinois not-for-profit organizations are recognized with grants of up to $6,000 to support stipends for high school students’ summer employment opportunities.  The 2017 SYEA Program is made possible with an award from the National Endowment for the Arts. 

IACA Announces Recipients of the Master Apprentice Program

The Illinois Arts Council Agency (IACA) is pleased to announce the recipients of the fiscal year 2017 Ethnic and Folk Arts Master Apprentice Program (MAP.) Thirteen master artists are recognized with awards of $3,000 each to instruct their chosen apprentices through intensive one-on-one sessions. MAP acknowledges the need for structured opportunities to pass on traditional, folk, and classical ethnic arts as part of the preservation of Illinois’ cultural heritage. MAP is made possible with an award from the National Endowment for the Arts.
