IACA Announces 2019 Literary Awards Program Recipients

The Illinois Arts Council Agency (IACA) is pleased to announce the Fiscal Year 2019 Literary Awards Program recipients. The Literary Awards Program recognizes Illinois writers and promotes greater awareness of non-commercial publishing in the state. Eligible not-for-profit literary magazines nominate Illinois writers recently featured in their publications.

Twenty thousand dollars in $1,000 companion awards was distributed among ten Illinois writers and the magazines which published their work.

IACA Announces 2019 Ethnic and Folk Arts Master/Apprentice Program Award Recipients

The Illinois Arts Council Agency (IACA) is pleased to announce the recipients of the fiscal year 2019 Ethnic and Folk Arts Master/Apprentice Program (MAP.) Twelve master artists are recognized with awards of $3,000 each to instruct their chosen apprentices through intensive one-on-one sessions. MAP acknowledges the need for structured opportunities to pass on traditional, folk, and classical ethnic arts as part of the preservation of Illinois’ cultural heritage. MAP is made possible with an award from the National Endowment for the Arts.

Guidelines and application materials for three National Endowment for the Arts funding categories— Art Works, Challenge America, and Creative Writing Fellowships—have posted on the Arts Endowment’s website. The National Endowment for the Arts supports projects in any part of the nation’s 50 states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories.

The Illinois Arts Council Agency is pleased to announce the release of Fiscal Year 2019 guidelines and application materials for our open deadline programs; Artstour & Live Music, StArts, and Individual Artist Support.

 

Artstour & Live Music (ATLM) provides support to eligible Illinois not-for-profit organizations seeking to present Illinois performing artists, companies, or groups for performances, collaborations, or short residencies held in conjunction with performances.
