Illinois Arts Council Agency FY18 Program Grant Guidelines Available

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Organizations that submitted a Program Grant application for fiscal year 2017 and submitted the recently requested update, DO NOT NEED TO APPLY. The submitted update will be utilized as the fiscal year 2018 application.

For organizations that did not submit an application in fiscal year 2017, the fiscal year 2018 Program Grant guidelines are now available.

The Illinois Arts Council Agency is pleased to announce the release of Fiscal Year 2018 guidelines and application materials for our open deadline programs; Artstour & Live Music, StArts, and Individual Artist Support.

 

Artstour & Live Music (ATLM) provides support to eligible Illinois not-for-profit organizations seeking to present Illinois performing artists, companies, or groups for performances, collaborations, or short residencies held in conjunction with performances. 

Illinois Arts Council Agency Seeks Executive Director

The Illinois Arts Council Agency’s (IACA) excellent Executive Director, Tatiana Gant, has taken a new job as the Executive Director of the Montana Arts Council.

The IACA is now in the process of searching for a qualified Executive Director.  If you wish to apply, please send a cover letter and resume to Chairman Shirley R. Madigan at shirley.madigan@illinois.gov as soon as possible. 

The interviewing process will begin almost immediately.  You will be notified about the date and time.

IACA announces the resignation of Executive Director Tatiana Gant

The Illinois Arts Council Agency (IACA) announces the resignation of Executive Director Tatiana Gant, effective July 31, 2017. Ms. Gant has worked with the IACA since 2002, serving as Director of Arts Education until 2012. Tatiana will be leaving Illinois to accept the position of Executive Director of the Montana Arts Council.

IACA Announces Recipients of the Summer Youth Employment in the Arts Program

The Illinois Arts Council Agency (IACA) is pleased to announce the recipients of the fiscal year 2017 Summer Youth Employment in the Arts (SYEA) Program.  Eighty-nine Illinois not-for-profit organizations are recognized with grants of up to $6,000 to support stipends for high school students’ summer employment opportunities.  The 2017 SYEA Program is made possible with an award from the National Endowment for the Arts. 

IACA Announces Recipients of the Master Apprentice Program

The Illinois Arts Council Agency (IACA) is pleased to announce the recipients of the fiscal year 2017 Ethnic and Folk Arts Master Apprentice Program (MAP.) Thirteen master artists are recognized with awards of $3,000 each to instruct their chosen apprentices through intensive one-on-one sessions. MAP acknowledges the need for structured opportunities to pass on traditional, folk, and classical ethnic arts as part of the preservation of Illinois’ cultural heritage. MAP is made possible with an award from the National Endowment for the Arts. 

IACA Announces Joshua Davis as Deputy Director

The Illinois Arts Council Agency is pleased to announce Joshua Davis as the Deputy Director.

Chairman Shirley R. Madigan said, “We were very pleased to be able to bring back an employee who is highly educated and has great expertise and knowledge in technology, government, arts-in-education, and architecture.”

Mr. Davis has been active in the Chicago theater and non-profit sector for many years. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University and his master’s degree from Brandeis University. He lives in Chicago.
