recipient profiles
Since its inception in 1965, the Illinois Arts Council (IAC) has provided
direct support to the state's individual artists. Recognizing that the
state's artists are the cornerstone of our culture, the IAC strives to
enhance their opportunities and status through the Artists Fellowship
Program and the Recipients Profiles.
The Recipients Profiles showcase Illinois' diverse artists and artforms
recognized through the IAC Artists Fellowship Program. This resource serves
as an archive of the Artists Fellowship Program and the work of its many
recipients. These awards are given to artists of exceptional talent in
recognition of their outstanding work and commitment within the arts.
Awards are made based on the quality of the work submitted and the evolving
professional accomplishments of the applicant.
Through the Artists Fellowship Program, Illinois artists creating in
the disciplines of Choreography, Crafts, Ethnic and Folk Arts, Interdisciplinary/Computer
Art, Media Arts, Music Composition, New Performance Forms, Photography,
Poetry, Prose, Scriptworks and Visual Arts are awarded $7,000 Fellowship
and $700 Finalist awards.
